Frank Verbeeten


Prof. Dr. F. (Frank) H.M. Verbeeten MBA (1969) is professor of Accounting at Utrecht University and is responsible for research and education (bachelor’s and master’s) in the field of (sustainable) financial management. He was previously responsible for the EMFC and PMA training at the University of Amsterdam, and was associated with the EMFC training at the Vrije Universiteit. He is also involved as a knowledge partner in the Global Finance Transformation Forum and Finance on a Mission. He previously worked at the University of Amsterdam, the Vrije Universiteit, RSM Erasmus University, Nyenrode Business University and Deloitte.

Frank’s research focuses on the use and effectiveness of (non-)financial performance measures and the design of control systems, as well as the influence of technology and Environmental, Social & Governance issues on the role of the CFO and the financial function within organisations. He has published in international scientific journals (including The Accounting Review; Organisation Studies; Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal; and Management Accounting Research) as well as (inter)national professional journals (including Strategic Finance; Executive Finance; Management Control and Accounting). Frank is joint editor of the Journal of Management Control and ad hoc reviewer for various international scientific journals.
